Oct 8 | Indi-B Rock the Vote Concert
5:30 – 8 pm Reptile Cantina
We are hosting a concert at the new upstairs venue at the Reptile Cantina to promote interest and attention to the incredibly important midterm elections. Please join us and spread the word to everyone you talk to!
Oct 10 | Poster Making
1 – 3 pm, Calvary Lutheran Church
Strategic Action has organized a time for everyone to come together and make posters for the upcoming March to the Polls, and you can also use them for the Get Out the Vote event!
Oct 17 | No Kings – Get out the Vote!
11 – 2 pm, Foothills Higher Education Center Parking Lot & Sidewalk.
This nationwide day of civic action supports early voting and a visible commitment to our democracy. We know this election may be contested; a BIG, visible effort to show massive turnout will help set the tone. Come join us to wave flags and signs, encourage voting, and hop aboard the Morganton trolley, which we will decorate and drive to high-traffic areas around town to encourage voting!
Oct 22 | Indi-B All Members Meeting.
6:15 – 7:30, First Presbyterian Church.
We will hold an all-members meeting to share ideas and ways that we can promote voter turnout over the following two weeks before the midterm elections.
Oct 24 | March to the Polls.
12 – 3 pm, Starting at Calvary Lutheran Church, Ending at the Senior Center.
A collective of interfaith leaders, civic organizations, and citizens organized this March to the Polls event to support democracy. Though Indi-B is not organizing this event, we believe it's another important opportunity to visibly support early voting! Stay tuned for more information at upcoming events.

Indivisible Burke NC is a nonpartisan, nonviolent, action-oriented grassroots organization dedicated to building real democracy—of, by, and for all people.
ICE in North Carolina
In November, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) moved into Charlotte to deploy Operation Charlotte’s Web. In addition to Charlotte, they appeared in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Gastonia, Winston-Salem, and other areas, including Burke County.
If you are an observer of an attempted ICE raid or arrest, you have the right to film and record federal law enforcement’s actions in public areas and private ones where you are granted access. Keep at least 25 feet from the incident to not directly interfere with their actions, or you could face an obstruction of justice charge.
DemocracyNC recommends following the SALUTE guide when observing ICE for specific details.
Size, or the number of agents and vehicles.
Activity, or what the agents are specifically doing.
Location, including specific addresses or intersections.
Uniform, or what the agents are wearing.
Time, including the date of the incident.
Equipment, including types of vehicles, weapons, or tools.

Indivisible Burke NC was formed in early 2025 and is one of thousands of Indivisible groups nationwide working in a nonpartisan way to strengthen our communities and our democracy. We are a grassroots group of volunteers who believe that hope and service are more powerful than hate and politics.

We firmly hold that 'We the People' means everyone in our communities, and that diversity is our country's greatest strength. We believe that all people deserve rights and opportunities.
Non-violence is our ethos. It is not just a moral stance. It is a strategic, principled, grounded form of constructive action.
